Now
that our (home)school year is in full swing we are finally getting
around to finishing up the final book in the Little House on the
Prairie Series, “The First Four Years.” It has been quite a
journey through all of the Little House books, and this one is no
exception. For starters, it's incredibly hard to read out loud, due to
the way it was written. It is basically the first four years of
Almanzo and Laura's marriage summarized, with a few stories sprinkled
in. Nevertheless, it is still a great conclusion for those who
wanted to know “what happened next?”
We
made one last lapbook, (you can find the template here: The First Four Years Lapbook) and will be moving on from Little House unit study,
but for those of you who would still like to learn more I highly
recommend studying Laura Ingalls Wilder herself and checking out the
following materials, most of which I found through my local library
system for free or for really cheap!
