Here is our unboxing!:

What was in the box (a more thorough review):

Vidalia Onion Grits Bits- They were described to be like a savory shortbread cookie, with a little bit of a "grit" texture. I couldn't taste these but Sonshine found them to be on the bland side, as did the Hubby, who described it as being just okay. Sonshine gives them a 3 out of a 10.

"Georgia's Sauce" Vinegar BBQ Sauce- Holy moly this was like eating straight vinegar!  I hate to say this but it was pretty gross. This one was definitely an acquired taste, I know because I had to google it, vinegar based sauces are big in the south. I don't know if this is just a So Cal thing or what, but normally we don't eat any sauce on grilled meat, and when we do, it's usually thick, sweet and honey based. This one is thin, and watery and I just have no idea what to do with it. I tried it on grilled chicken and nope, still could not stand it, neither could Hubby, Teenie smelled it a ran out of the room. I have no idea what to do with it, or how to make it taste better. Me and the Hubby give it a 1 out of 10. Sonshine liked it a little bit more than I did, he gave it a 4 out of 10.
Blackberry Patch Peach Cobbler Jam- This jam has all the taste of peach cobbler without the crust. While it may not be the healthiest thing in the world, Sonshine and I have been eating it straight out of the jar, it is so so very delicious! 10 out of 10.

Georgia Grinders Peanut Butter- I have to start out by saying, that no one in my house liked this peanut butter, except for me. Which was surprising because everyone in my house is obsessed with peanut butter. Unfortunately the PB sold at the grocery stores is filled with sugar and salt among other things. Georgia Grinders only has two ingredients, peanuts and salt. That's it! I love this stuff and eat it straight off the spoon, it is THAT GOOD! I also like a dollop in my morning smoothies! And did I mention it comes in a glass jar? Way to be fancy! Hubby gives it a 5 out of 10, he said it was too bland (how can peanut butter be bland?!?!) Sonshine gave it a 2 out of 10, he really missed the sugar. I love it, and am happy that I don't have to share with anyone else. I will savour every bite of it, and while my family eats that garbage peanut butter out of a plastic jar. I give it a 10 out of 10!

Southern Breeze Sweet Tea- I love ice tea in the summer! By some scientific miracle the people at Southern Breeze have discovered a way to infuse the Splenda sweetener into the tea bags. So as you are steeping your tea, it is also being sweetened at the same time with zero calories Each tea bag makes 2 quarts of tea, and each box contains 16 bags. We can not get enough of this stuff, so when I found out we were getting low, I could not find it in a store near me, but did discover that it is sold by the case on Amazon, and comes in four flavors. I will definitely be stocking up.  Sonshine gives this one a "hey, that's pretty good!" 9 out of 10, the Hubby and I give it a 10 out of 10.

Georgia Booklet- Filled with interesting tidbits about Georgia and beautiful pictures of the state. I give it a 10 out of 10.
"What's Inside?" Guide- A handy guide of the foods included and ways to enjoy them. I give it a 7 out of 10. I think this could be improved by adding a few recipes to help use the products as well.

And the verdict is:
I had to keep reminding myself (and everyone else) that these were REGIONAL foods. As a mom, homebody and homeschooler, I think this is idea is genius! I love how we can all live together in one country, yet be so different from each other! This is also a great way to "travel" without leaving the house! This would be a great gift for teachers, homeschooling families, people who love to travel, foodies, or just about anyone in general!
All in all, while we weren't crazy about every product in our box, we did enjoy tasting foods that we otherwise wouldn't have, and learning more about the state of Georgia! Honestly, I have never been to Georgia, nor ever had the desire to go, but after reading through the booklet a few times I might reconsider it.
