Canning Is Easy When You Have The Right Tools! #canningset12 # FoodPreservation #ad

Learning to home can food has been one of the best homemaking skills that I have acquired over the years.  Not only is my family eating healthier, because I am able to can without salt.  I am also preserving food, saving money, and making my own convenience foods!  I love hitting up meat sales at my local grocery stores and canning it up!  Being a wannabe homesteader, I have also been able to put up my own home grown foods as well.   There is nothing better than coming home late from an outing and being able to pop open a few jars and have dinner ready in a few minutes.

Everything thing I learned about home canning, I learned from friends, the internet and books.  I even took a home study course to learn more. I started with water bath canning, then when I felt comfortable, I bought a pressure canner and became obsessed with putting up jars of beans and soups.  But it isn't just about a canner and jars, you also need to have the proper tools.  Having a great set of tools makes putting up food faster, easier and safer.

Tools are pretty easy to find but are usually sold separately and can the cost can add up. I recommend buying them in a set, like this affordable one from Bellemain.  This 6 Piece Canning Set includes a funnel, jar lifter, magnetic lid lifter, tongs, bubble popper/measuring stick and lid remover wrench. The metal tools have vinyl coatings for better grip and are stainless steel, you so they are built to last.  They are also super easy to care for because the tools are all dishwasher safe.

Here is a step by step video of me demonstrating the Bellemain Canning Tool Set  to can the most frequently used food in my house, pinto beans!
