Using Essential Oils: Piping Rock Purification Essential Oil #pipingrock

There is nothing that I love more than the smell of  a clean house.  Unfortunately when you have kids, dogs and hubby who has motor oil running through his veins, it's really difficult to keep the house smelling fresh without using chemicals.  Everyone in my house has horrible allergies, so I try to only use chemical fresheners only as a last resort or if company is coming by. Normally just opening the windows and letting in fresh air will do the trick, but that's something that is just not gonna happen right now during the cold winter days.

Luckily I have recently discovered Purification Essential Oil Blend from Piping Rock.  This fantastic smelling oil is a blend of Clove,Lemon,Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Lemongrass and Myrtle Oils.  It has a fresh, clean citrus scent.  Oil blends like the ones avalible from Piping Rock are a great way for beginners to try out using essential oils because there is no fear of "messing up."

Naturally I thought it would be a great freshener for my stinky, house so I thought
I'd experiment.  Here are a few ways that I like to use Purification Oil.

Homemade Fabric Refresher and all natural floor cleaner!
  • Floor Cleaner - Mix two cups of hot water 1/2 a cup of white vinegar and 10 drops of purification oil to make a great cleaner for wood laminate and laminate tile floors.  Vinegar smell will dissipate and leave behind just the clean smell of the oil.
  • Bathroom Cleaner - Or use one cup of white vinegar, two cups of water and 15 - 20 drops of Purification oil to clean bathrooms.
  • Fabric Refresher - Mix 1 cup of water and 5-10 drops of Purification oil to a spray bottle. Shake well and use to lightly mist sofas and stinky dog beds. Or spray directly on dogs avoiding the eyes. (Test a small area first to make sure your pooch isn't allergic.)
  • Air Freshener - As a natural room freshener, add a few drops to a cotton ball and tuck into areas that are out of reach of kids and dogs. Also great for cars!
  • Refresh towels by adding one cup of vinegar and 10 drops of Purification oil in the rinse cycle. Dry with NO fabric softener. Your towels will be fluffier, more absorbent and smell fresh.
  • Forget the clothes in the washer and now they smell like mildew? Run the cycle using 1 cup of white vinegar and 10 drops of Purification oil to get rid of that funky mildew smell.  Dry as usual.
  • Got stinky shoes?  Add a few drops of Purification oil to a couple of cotton balls and stick in the toes of your shoes to get rid of those odors.
  • Make a relaxing foot soak that helps stinky feet with warm water and 10 drops of Purification oil.
  • Add 10-15 drops to a warm bath to invigorate your mind and body.
Using oil blends is a great way to get started with essential oils. Essential oils can be found in health food stores and from online retailers like pipingrock.com.

I received products for free from pipingrock.com to try in the hopes that I would like them enough to write about them on my blog.  I was not paid to write this post, I do not make any heath claims about the products and I am just sharing my personal experience with these products.
