Think Fun Brain Fitness Knot So Fast Review #ThinkFun

My kids love games, so naturally they are always excited to try a new one. However when they saw this Think Fun's Brain Fitness Knot So Fast, they weren't impressed.  The simple packaging just didn't appeal to them. So I decided to try this one out myself first. Lucky for me it's a single player game that claims it will cross train my brain. Which is awesome, because my brain could use all the help it can get.

So I opened up the box and found that there were only three pieces to this simple game; a book, a length of rope and a metal hoop.  I did notice right away that all pieces are really well constructed. Nice and sturdy!  The book is spiral bound which is great because you can position the book however you need. Inside the book is 40 different challenges with 4 progressive levels of play.

It starts off relatively easy then really does get progressively more difficult. But maybe it's because I am not really good only knew how to tie two different knots to begin with.  However within a few minutes I was able to complete 12 different knots.  Once I got started I didn't want to put it down.  It's fun and challenging trying to figure out how to tie some of the more difficult knots.  Teenie changed her mind once she saw me playing around with and decided to try it herself.  An hour later she trying to figure out the 15th knot.

Then I thought "this would be perfect for Sonshine!"  So I try to show it to him again and he's like "I can barely tie my shoes, why would I want to pay with that?" However I was adamant that he try it and begged him to do it for at least 5 minutes.  He relented and within that five minutes was able to tie 4 different knots.  When I went to take the game back he said, "Okay, but I am going to use it again later."

I DID IT!! Harness Loop

I would say that this is game would be great for anyone who enjoys those metal or wooden brain teaser puzzles, boy scouts, or wannabe MacGyver's.  Actually it would be a great gift for anyone who needs a break from technology, instead of sitting around playing mindless games on devices....  On a more serious note, I also think it would be good for anyone who has issues with dexterity and/or coordination, especially for kids with Asperger's who commonly have issues with learning to tie knots.

Knot So Fast is a great way to unwind and it's a great game to take along for long car trips. Just fifteen minutes a day helps to relieve stress stretches your mental muscles!
