I'm constantly complaining about my dry skin. It's unsightly, itchy, flaky and just plain uncomfortable. Summer is coming to a close (yay!) and fall will be here soon, along with it the winds and cooler temperatures that we normally experience here in the desert. When the wind is blowing constantly and there is zero humidity, it sucks the moisture out of your body. The winters in the desert, as much as I love them, are equally harsh. By Christmas my skin is so dry that it is hurts. No matter how much water you drink, it's difficult to keep skin hydrated in harsh conditions. Traditional lotions don't seem to help and I often find myself reaching for oil based moisturizers to help soothe my skin.
I am always up for the challenge of trying new beauty products, so when Mia Mariu’s NEW Skin Nourishing Oil arrived in my mailbox I couldn't wait to try it. The item was packaged nicely and also included a product catalog and samples of their Refreshing Foam Gel Cleanser, RestauraCel-C Thermal Microdermabrasion and Hydrating Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30+. All wrapped up in a little pouch, so cute!
First I tried the samples, the gel cleanser made my face feel squeaky clean without the drying tightness that other cleansers usually have on my skin. I followed up with the Thermal Microdermabrasion, which was totally weird because even you mix the two packet together (activator and Refinisher, they warm in your hand. My face felt soft and smooth afterwards, even before the Hydrating Anti-Aging Moisturizer, which left my face soft and smooth all day.
Since we are in a drought here in So Cal and it is still very hot in my area right now, I have decreased both heat and time spent in the unusually hard water that comes out of my faucet and slathered myself in the oil afterwards. The oils smells really good, it has a light citrus-y scent, mostly like grapefruit. This oil is also remarkably light, lighter than Argan oil! It absorbs super fast and moisturized well for less dry areas, buy on the super dry areas like knees and elbows, I still needed some additional moisturizing. But I have the skin of a reptile, so I thought I'd try it on someone with normal skin.
After I saw that Mia Mariu's Norishing Skin Oil was alcohol free, sulfate free, paraben free and suitable for all skin types and ages. I decided to see how it worked for my kids. Teenie hates wearing lotion and it's a struggle to get her to put some on her ashy legs, so I talked her into trying this oil. She hates lotion because she says it makes her feel sticky or greasy. She hesitantly let me put some on her arms, and legs. She really liked the smell and that it wasn't "sticky like stupid ol' lotion." I also tried some on Sonshine, who has dry skin on his upper arms, he said he liked how it smelled like all of his favorite fruits, and that his arms weren't as itchy.
I really liked this oil and it worked really well for both myself and my kids' sensitive skin.
Mía Mariu offers natural skin care, professional makeup artist quality mineral cosmetics and brushes, fine fragrances and nutritional supplements to Reveal Your Unique Shade of Beauty!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
