When ever I can I try to use natural alternatives for just about everything. I think we are exposed to enough chemicals in our daily lives as it is. Unfortunately, these "natural" products are super expensive and don't always work. So I tend to stick to good old fashioned vinegar, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and elbow grease. And if that doesn't work I break out the good old fashioned chemicals...so basically I try to use them as a last resort when natural concoctions fail.
Naturally I was eager to try Apothecary Extracts Australian Tea Tree Oil and Recipe Guide. I am always at a loss of how to use extracts and oils, but this company makes it easy, by including a recipe guide with over 50+ ideas for how to use Tea Tree oil. Genius! Apothecary Extracts sent me a generous 4 ounce bottle to review. Their oil is 100% pure tea tree oil and is not diluted like other brands.
The first thing I did was mix together some of the recipes from their guide. I had been suffering a sore throat (allergy related) for about a week and I noticed that there was a recipe for a mouthwash. So I mix some up to use when my throat was irritated and it really helped to reduce the pain. My sore throat hasn't went away completely but it feels MUCH better. However, tea tree oil is toxic (if you swallow it) so I made sure to really rinse well. I also mixed up a cleaner recipe for my bathroom, which really got everything clean and smelling fresh. (Many people do not like the smell of tea tree oil, but I love it.)
Tea Tree (melaleuca oil) is of the most versatile essential oils and has many uses around the home. It is used to fight acne, toenail fungus, lice, yeast infections, skin tags, cold sores, dandruff, ringworm, fleas, warts, psoriasis, and more. It can also be used to make your own beauty and hygiene products such as, shampoo, lotion, soap, face cleaner, body wash, and toothpaste. You can also use it around the house to replace harmful chemicals by making household cleaners, detergents, shower sprays, bathroom disinfectants, and kitchen sprays.
The best thing about Apothecary Extracts Australian Tea Tree Oil, because of it's super potent, a little goes a long way. A few drops here and there is all you need so this bottle should last the average user for about a year!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
